The Boys

by By Kris Elgstrand (Canadian Premiere)

September 30th - October 16th 2010, 8 pm SHARP

“Sometimes you can go home again; sometimes it’s just not a good idea.”
The Boys is a hilariously ugly comedy about Donny and Des, two brothers who return to their childhood home after the death of their estranged father.  Donny wants revenge on his failure of a life.  Des is obsessed with a figurine that looks like his long-dead mother.  Margaret, their stepmother, wants them gone… Then things get really ugly.
Heartbreaking and ridiculous, sympathetic and cruel, resonant and provocative, The Boys is an intelligent and poignant black comedy that hits right where it hurts.
The Guild is proud to be presenting the Canadian Premiere of this brand new play by Vancouver playwright and film maker, Kris Elgstrand.  Mr. Elgstrand’s plays have been performed all over Canada and the United States and several of his films have been selected for various festivals and awards across the continent.
