Getting Started in Theatre in Yukon - Conversations with Colin Wolf

Instructor: Colin Wolf, Artistic Director, Gwaandak Theatre

March 6th and 7th
Book individual or group sessions

Want to learn about acting basics? Interested in auditioning but not sure where to start? Always thought about becoming a costume, lighting, or set designer?

Gwaandak Theatre is inviting Indigenous Yukoners interested in theatre to join Colin Wolf, artistic director, for conversations and play!

These conversations are a partnership between Gwaandak Theatre and TheGuild. The Guild Hall has an upcoming production of Dreary and Izzy by Indigenous playwright Tara Beagan and, as part of this, Gwaandak and the Guild are hoping to facilitate getting Indigenous Yukoners involved in those auditions. However this conversation is more about making you feel comfortable, excited, and bold about getting into theatre.

Metis theatre maker Colin Wolf, with 10 years professional experience, will encourage you to reflect on what about theatre interests you, get up on your feet with some basic theatre games, and take the leap into auditioning, stage managing, or anything else in theatre. The exact conversation depends on you! We hope these sessions will build confidence, fight stage fright, and clarify any concerns aspiring Indigenous theatre makers may have about how to get into theatre in Yukon.

Sessions will be March 6th and 7th at the Guild Hall. Participants are encouraged to book a spot solo (45 minutes) or come with a small group of friends (1.5 hours). We can facilitate in person or digital conversations. If transportation is a barrier for you, please let us know and we can help make arrangements.
